We don’t promise wisdom, we are committed to seek it.
Wisdom is that deep understanding that what is clear today, may and will cloud tomorrow. At U-Sophia we propose to prod, cajole and assist travelers in charting maps to those regions yet unknown.
The team at U-Sophia is headed by Dan Shorer, veteran of many quixotic wisdomades, who after a PhD in Philosophy from the Parisian La Sorbonne, experienced a long series of metamorphoses: a hotelier on a Greek island - finding and losing the grail of earthliness; actor director and dramatist for cinema and theater –seeking truth and finding masks; university lecturer – planting disturbing seeds of doubt; publisher – nourishing hope in a nursery of death-plants; a businessman and an awestruck wonderer at the vanity of it all.
And so, U-Sophia came to be - an island of calm in the midst of a raging
tempest; a haven to rekindle and recharge the dwindling resources of
curiosity and stamina; an academy where knowledge is challenged, and
where divers for pearls of wisdom refrain from extricating them from their
hosting shells. A team of relentless believers in doubt joined U-Sophia and are committed to guiding travelers on the road toward chaos, the chaos that breeds creation that breeds chaos.
